Cricinfo

August 28th, 2008

The cricinfo scores/news feed URLs changed recently so anyone with those set as their preferences would have been having problems. They’ve now been fixed.

iphonecricket.com

June 13th, 2008

iphonecricket.com is no longer being hoarded by someone hoping to make a quick profit. So it now redirects here & I’ve got control of it for the next six years.

Still gonna stick with the mullygrubber name, but iphonecricket is probably easier for people to remember.

More Changes

April 28th, 2008

Thanks to user Tc I’ve added some new settings so you can choose your source of scores (cricinfo.com or ecb.co.uk) and news (Cricinfo, ECB or bbc.co.uk/cricket).

I’ve also added direction for Ireland and Scotland as they’re taking part in Friends Provident games some people might find this helpful. Due to the lack of information on the grounds the pages are a little sparse, so if you have any more information please email me.

Start of the season

April 15th, 2008

The start of the season is here, and I’m planning on writing a few articles on domestic cricket. Particularly Twenty20 and how the IPL/ICL affect it.

I’ll also be doing any updates to mullygrubber.com that’ll help me find my way about. I planning on getting the quite a few away games this season so I should be able to use it quite a bit.

The first change is adding entrances to the directions page (for the main county grounds), taken from the ECB’s grounds pages.

An obvious change

March 11th, 2008

I’ve made what was a pretty obvious change to the Contacts pages, The phone numbers are now top of the page, rather than after the address. Thanks to the ‘iPhone SDK for Web Developers’ video from Apple for pointing out the probably obvious fact that the iPhone is a phone so numbers will be the thing people most want to find.

The Directions page

March 7th, 2008

Directions are taken from the club’s website where possible, the rest are taken from the ECB website. Taxi numbers are taken from a yell.com search centred on the ground.

Header

The directions pages will have a list of grounds if the County is going to play at more than one. Each has a header with the name and an image of the ground.

Car

The car directions feature written instructions and where possible a map of the ground and surrounding area. Otherwise there’s a Google Maps link pointing at the ground. Where the information is available there are parking details.

Train

Information on the nearest train stations is also included with instructions for walking, buses and Underground where appropriate. Most of the stations have a Google Maps link with directions from station to ground (be aware these are for cars so may not be suitable for walking). All the stations include a link to the nationalrail.co.uk webpage which has information on opening hours, toilets, disabled access and pretty much everything else.

Taxi

The weather link takes you to the BBC’s weather page for the town, and there are a few numbers for Taxi firms close to the ground, click to call.

The Contact Page

March 7th, 2008

Contact

The contact page has the county’s address, phone numbers (automatically linked by your iPhone for quick dialing) and if available the club’s email address.

The Home Page

March 7th, 2008

Header

The top two links give you quick access to the latest scores from Cricinfo and new from the BBC

Your County

The your county section gives you access to directions for your home grounds, contacts, news, fixtures and a link to the website

Domestic

The domestic covers the same information as above, but for all 18 first class counties. As well as having this seasons hours of play.

International

The international section give you a quick link to your home nation’s news, and access to news for the top international teams including Scotland and Ireland.
